The second European Union-Central Asia Economic Forum

The second European Union-Central Asia Economic Forum was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan on 18-19 May 2023. It discussed the policies, programs, and investments needed to develop a more integrated and interconnected regional market engagement.

 

The forum's purpose is to promote interaction between the EU and CA in three key priority areas - the green and digital transition, improving the business environment, trade, and connectivity.

M-Vector representatives took part in the forum, where Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev, representative of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzada, Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan Serdar Jorayev, Head of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Odile Renault Basso, Vice President of European Investment Bank Teresa Cervinsky were present and spoke.

 

The event included speeches, round tables, and focus sessions. The forum also discussed the possibility of regularly taking stock of progress made in specific priority areas and expressed the hope to organize the next EU-Central Asia Forum in 2025.

 

The M-Vector team made business contacts and discussed further cooperation with international companies.
